It’s not everyday that I get excited about waiting in line. Wait, what am I saying? I never get excited about waiting in line, but today is different. I am waiting in line in Baker Centre at Ohio University for a blood drive hosted by the Schey Sales Centre.
I must say that I was pretty thrilled when asked to donate blood. The experience alone is a simple way to make a huge impact to those in need and as always, it benefits a great cause. The Nations blood bank is critically low and right now is the time to make a difference.
Sharing the wait with me, Sarah Prendeville stated “I’m a little nervous (to donate) but I’m excited at the same time. I know how many people are counting on my help. It may be a long wait but it’s a small sacrifice in comparison to the people it will benefit.”
Volunteering for the blood drive, Devin Albert made the comment “It’s great to have so many people in attendance to support the cause. Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to make a difference. It takes only one donation to save as many as three lives.” Definitely something I would consider a worthwhile cause.
Throughout the construction of this post, I’ve still been in line waiting to give blood. If you at Ohio University today, please consider making your way to the 3rd floor atrium in Baker Centre between now and 6:00pm. This is your time to make a difference.
