Details: Bloggers will be given specific event coverage. Responsibilities include attending Sales Centre events, taking summary notes of the event, researching background of guest speakers, photographing events.

Corrina Schultz from corporate partner McGraw-Hill

Corrina is currently the Director of Talent at McGraw-Hill Higher Education. She graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in English with intentions of going into publishing. After various career decisions, Corrina ended up in sales and was captivated by the thrill of closing a deal.

She told our sales certificate candidates to stretch themselves by taking advantage of internships, studying abroad, and not being afraid to move away after graduation. Leaving your comfort zone can lead to great result in your career. Corrina added that yound professionals need to ask questions and network for further expansion to new opportunities.

As for being a woman with experience in the sales field, she had pertinent advice for young female graduates going into sales. Corrina said that the field is a bit of a “boys club” but to not let that stop young women from achieving their career goals. She says to become more successful, women should find a mentor who can help guide and advise their career path. crucial-conversations

Women oftentimes are taught to be accommodating but Corrina told our female sales certificate candidates to not tolerate  discrimination in a work environment. Find your voice and stand up for yourself. For help in these types of situations, she suggests the book Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High. 

Corrina said, “People remember how you treated them. Don’t be remembered for the wrong reasons.”
