Sales Certificate Candidates spent Saturday, Feb. 15 competing in real-world sales role plays at the Ohio Sales Cup in Copeland Hall on Ohio University’s campus.
Members of the Sales Centre’s traveling sales competition team the “Sales Cats” competed as always but this year the Ohio Sales Cup opened the challenges to any certificate candidate who had completed Marketing 3580: Foundations of Professional Sales. These competitors made up the “Wild Cats” team, coached by Sales Centre Advisory Board member and Visiting Executive in Residence, Alan McMillan. Candidates not competing were welcome and able to watch a live screening of the competition.
Corporate Partners of the Sales Centre led discussions and provided feedback for all the competitors. The stakes were high with a $1,000 cash prize and a custom Tom James suit up for grabs. Performances by all competitors were excellent and the judges had a tough decision to make.
By the end of the competition, the Ohio Sales Cup Finalists were announced. The placeholders are as follows:

5th – Cassey Eck
4th – Fred Kumih
3rd – Zach Ernstoff
2nd – Andrew Black
1st place and taking home the prizes was senior Shawn Hostetler.
