A Lesson on Business Attire

Good luck to everyone who applied for The Schey Sales Centre’s Fall 2014-2015 New Hire class! In preparation for our special applicant dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 6-9 p.m. in Nelson Commons and the following interviews on Thursday, Sept. 11 or Friday, Sept. 12., here are some tips on business professional and business casual dress.

Business Casual – Guys

  • Button-up shirt
  • Matching belt & shoes
  • Clean shaven
  • Coordinating/appropriate tie
  • Nice-looking slacks/dress pants; ironed
  • Polished shoes
  • Clothing ironed

Business Casual – Ladies

  • Nice blouse or cardigan; modest neckline
  • Appropriate length skirt (knee length) or nice-looking dress pants; ironed
  • Natural makeup
  • No bulky jewelry
    • Choose one ring to wear
    • Wear a watch OR bracelet, not both
  • Closed-toe shoes; flats or heels (maximum height of 4″)
  • Clothing ironed

Business Professional – Guys

  • Button-up shirt, appropriate tie
  • Matching belt & shoes
  • Clean shaven
  • Nice-looking slacks/dress pants
  • Coordinating suit jacket
  • Polished shoes
  • Clothing ironed

Business Professional – Ladies

  • Nice blouse
  • Appropriate length skirt (knee length) or nice-looking dress pants
  • Coordinating suit jacket
  • No bulky jewelry
    • Choose one ring to wear
    • Wear a watch OR bracelet, not both
  • Closed-toe shoes; flats or heels (maximum height of 4″)
  • Clothing ironed
  • Hair kept back/away from the face

And don’t forget your padfolio!
